Every fall, Fat Quarter Shop hosts a free sew-along. They typically have a Halloween theme, but this year they decided to focus on Autumn instead. This year's project is called Autumn Nights. FQS has chosen a beautiful new Fig Tree collection of fabric called Agatha Road, which is very similar to past fabric lines Joanna Figueroa has designed. They also offered a fabric kit, which I ordered.
You can see my starched and ironed fabric all ready to go in the photo above. If you have a stash of Fig Tree Halloween fabrics, you could have what you need to duplicate this project without ordering any more fabric!
The first free pattern has been released, and it consists of three wonky pieced stars done in the taupe/tan fabrics. I peeked ahead and can see there will be black leaves and orange pumpkins coming up. The finished project will be a square wall hanging or table topper, but I am going to see if I can figure out how to turn it into a rectangular table runner.
Are you participating in this free sew-along? I hope to get started on my blocks soon.

I am planning on participating this year. I’d like to see how you turn it into a table runner.
I am doing it too but choosing fabrics from my stash. It will be Mondays project!
I’ll be watching to see everyone’s results of the sew along. Fig Tree fabrics are pretty, as always!
I have decided to participate. I like the Autumn theme rather than a Halloween theme.
I love that! her oranges are always so gorgeous.
I have to pass on this one but I will save the patterns. One year I turned the topper into a bed runner for my MIL, but that one was easy as it was just 4 big blocks. Figueroa fabrics are so dreamy!
