After all the sewing I did over the weekend, my other responsibilities are catching up with me. This week doesn't look as if it will be as productive. I did work on the patchwork border for the Strawberry Garden quilt. All the units are made. I need to connect them and attach them to the quilt. That one is going off for quilting very soon, along with the Drunkard's Path table topper I recently made.

These little block units are Clue 4 for the Primitive Gatherings Sew-Along. Clue 5 came out late Monday afternoon, but I haven't had a chance to make those blocks yet. There are only four of them, so I know I can crank those out later in the week.

I am off to the Bay Area for my monthly eye injection. I am so grateful I have had such a dramatic improvement in my eyesight due to those shots. Dennis is also doing well. He is getting around mostly with one cane now and even occasionally walks around the house with no aid. He is definitely still a fall risk however, and it makes me nervous when he does that. He has actually driven the car a few times, and is really trying to me more independent in many ways. He has come a long way in the past year! We are so grateful for all these positive results from our medical treatments, time, and the good wishes of our friends.

  1. Somehow life has a way of interfering with our sewing.☺️But you always get so much accomplished! Good luck with your shot. After the year you guys have had, it’s wonderful to hear that things are moving in the right direction!❤️

  2. I’m so glad you are doing well with the eyesight and Dennis continues to improve. Small miracles. You get way more accomplished than I ever could. I always enjoy seeing your progress.
I did get to the Omaha Quilt Guild’s annual show over the weekend. It gets my creativity going again. I did manage to get my Day of the Dead needlepoint back from the framer and delivered another large Susan Roberts needlepoint nutcracker to him. That will be a few months wait. Meanwhile a few small projects.

  3. I’m so glad you’re moving along with your sewing as life and time allow!
Wishing you well with this next injection and hope it continues to improve your vision.
It’s wonderful to hear that Dennis continues to improve, too. Modern medicine is a wonder for so many formerly untreatable conditions. Will someone stay with Dennis while you’re away or will he go, too?
    Hugs!

  4. We’re thrilled to hear that you’re doing so well with the eye injections! Nowadays the results are the complete opposite of the late 1990’s when my father-in-law was treated for macular degeneration with other methods. My husband inherited it & has had a good experience with injections in both eyes. Dennis’s positive progress is wonderful news, too!

  5. Things are looking up for both of you. This is happy news, indeed. Your big pile of blocks is very pretty!
