There is a new sew-along starting up, hosted by Primitive Gatherings. Each week for only eight weeks, clues will be published by Lisa Bongean and her team at Primitive Gatherings. This sew-along features her new fabric collection, Pumpkin Spice Gatherings. Not all the colors will be used in this mystery sew-along; we will leave out the reds and greens and purples in this one.

What to do with all that starched and pressed fabric? The Pumpkin Spice Gatherings sew-along came at just the right time!

The sew-along started Monday, July 7. The sewing is simple for the first week: make 28 pumpkins using your orange and gold fabrics. The weekly patterns are free if you purchased your fabric bundle at Primitive Gatherings. If you are using your own fabric or purchased your bundle elsewhere, as I did, you must pay $5 for each week's pattern download. Don't wait, though! At the end of each week, the price for the download goes up to $8!

Here is the link to the fabric instructions and other information on supplies etc.

The finished quilt will be a good-sized 84" by 96".

  1. Lots of cute pumpkins! I don’t know when purple became a fall color, but it seems to be in every Halloween-type collection. Not my favorite.

  2. What a gorgeous fabric collection– I’d be tempted to throw in some purple. I’m also ready for some larger quilts this summer. Can’s wait to see it progress. xox

  3. That’s going to be a really cute Fall quilt! The colors in the collection are inviting & I’d also think about finding a spot for some of that purple! Some of the stems might be the darker green, too.

  4. oh.my.gawd. that is just gorgeous! I love this fabric line so much. that is going to be gorgeous! I like Carol’s idea of adding purple.

  5. Looks like a perfect match of fabric to pattern. Will enjoy seeing your progress.
(back from a week’s recuperation and find you have joined another quilt-along!)
