Star of Wonder Table Topper is a Finish!

Another good day of sewing, I am happy to report. I decided to just get Star of Wonder done and send it off to the quilter since I had to go to the post office anyway. And it's off to Florida!

I think it turned out darned cute. The project was pretty easy overall. The sewing methods were traditional, but I did use some time-saving methods such as making 4 at a time flying geese and using foundation papers for the half-square triangles and square in a square units.

If you make this cute table topper, I highly recommend that you follow along with Kimberly Jolly's YouTube tutorials for guidance.

The only really tricky thing about this project is that fabric placement is extremely important and if you don't pay attention you will be using your seam ripper. If you get the placement wrong you will lose your design. Anyway, why not give it a try? The pattern is free, it is a quick project, and it would be adorable on a round or square table during the holidays.

I honestly have no idea what I will work on up in my sewing room today! It's a blank slate. Heaven knows I have about a dozen projects in progress, so I should be able to pick out something to work on.

  1. Rock STAR! (See what I did there—lol) You are crushing it this week. I’m still twaddling with Week 3. Your finish looks fantastic. Xox

  2. The more I see this topper, the more I like it. Stitch, maybe?? Love your RWB quilts also. You certainly are in finishing mode and your quilts are delightful.

  3. That’s a beautiful topper and you’ve been finishing things left and right! I know that must feel amazing. I can’t wait to see what you work on next.

  4. Another great finish! And, in time to send it off with the others to the quilter. Do you have your bindings picked out for those? I make mine as soon as I have the quilt ready to go to the quilter. That way, I have no excuse not to put them on when the quilts come home.

  5. Wow! You are really on a roll! I am just languishing with indecision on what to do next.
    Too many choices.
