Did you all enjoy seeing all the cute dog pics on Instagram yesterday? It was National Dog Day. Everyone with a cute dog (and some not so cute dogs) posted pictures of their pets. Well I have a cute dog too. Ozzie. He has been with us for 13 years and those years have been a wild ride. Ozzie was a mischievous puppy and nothing has changed. He loves attention and will stop at nothing to get it. Nothing.
If I am too long at my computer, he will go find some personal object of mine and caper around with it, pretending he is about to devour it until I stop what I am doing, chase after him and confiscate it. What a fun game right? We have been playing it for years. Often it is a hair scrunchy or clip. Sometimes my eyeglasses. Sometimes it is something of a very personal nature. Ahem.
Here is a trip down Memory Lane.

The time he buried a rawhide chew toy under the pillow in the guest room. Just before the guests arrived.

For a few years he had a thing for expensive orange shoes.

Then there was the issue with him being jealous of my sewing irons.
That went on for a while.
He has mellowed out after all these years, but I have to say, he's led me on a merry chase. He won't let me forget he's around, that is for sure.
Now that he is Old Dog, he lazes around a lot more.

I love that dog! I bet my wire fox terrier can one up your Ozzie stories. You have to love that “tude”! You wouldn’t want a boring dog, now would you? Ozzie 2020!
It has been fun to watch his antics over the years. What ever happened to the other one, if I may ask?

I’ve been reading you for a long time. The “orange shoe” period was when I started. I couldn’t believe you didn’t give him away then. Happy Dog Day.
Facebook posted a “memory” for me yesterday of our two dogs, both deceased. I was a little upset, but then we both reminisced about them and what good dogs they were and then Ifelt better.
He’s such a cutie! And with loads of personality!

Nothing like an Airedale!! Ours removed and devoured a whole pot of chili cooling on the stove top and could open the refrigerator.
What a cutie. Such typical escapades. Makes me lonesome for our wirehaired fox terrier. We’ve had three over the years. He looks like a Welsh. My son has an airedale/shepherd mix that is quite the “terriorist.” It’s interesting that there are so many terrier owners among the comments. Creative people have good taste in breeds! LOL

has it really been 13 years? OMG, I so remember when you got him….and then a “friend” that didn’t work out…or am i just making that up. none-the-less, i have so enjoyed the escapades of Ozzie!

I love silly dog stories. My mom had a dog once that stole the Thanksgiving turkey right off the table. (Everyone had already had one serving.) Of course, it could be because someone put the turkey on the coffee table!
Oh what a cutie! It is good that he made you get up from time to time for your exercise. That is Zeus’s job and he does it well too.

I well remember The Adventures of Ozzie. The shoes, the bra, the iron cord. He’s still a fine fellow though.
