Quilts Back From Quilter

I may not be getting a lot of sewing done, but I have been on a mission sending tops out for quilting.  This past week, I got three of them back, and am so pleased with the results.

Tumbler is pictured above, done in various Denyse Schmidt fabrics.  That quilt has such a modern yet retro feel to it. I used Carrie Nelson's Crumbler acrylic template to cut out the pieces for this quilt.

Fig Tree reds and pinks are the fabrics in this quilt, which I think has a fresh feminine appeal.  The pattern is also by Fig Tree, but I have no recollection of what it is called.

My quilter and I were referring to this one as "Modernish" when we discussed quilting designs for it.  This one was a real sleeper for me.  I had no idea how much I would love the finished results.  The pattern is called "Apple Crisp" and is in Evelyn Sloppy's book "40 Fabulous Quick Cut Quilts".  Fabric is Fresh Air by Chez Moi for Moda.  I do remember how fun it was to make these blocks.

Hope you all have a great weekend.  Our 100 degree plus weather has finally come to an end after a two week stretch.  It is supposed to cool down to 93 this next week.  Woo hoo.  I am pretty much done with summer I tell you.  Bring on the crock pot dinners and fall decorations.

  1. Great quilts! My favorite is the ‘Kiss Me’ quilt I just love Fig Tree:-)
Since summer here never get really started I can’s say I’m ready for autumn yet but weather is something we can’t change.

  2. My machine quilter has been doing straight-line quilting on my mondern-ish quits for the past year or so. I love the results! 😍
I did a pot roast in the crock pot yesterday! Am I jumping over some of what remains of summer??

  3. I love the Fig Tree one. It’s called “Kiss Me” and when I saw you making it I went and bought the pattern. Still haven’t made it yet…

  4. Beautiful finishes Nicole. Each quilt so unique.
And am I glad the heat wave has broken. Those 100 plus degree days were brutal. It’s noon and only 81 degrees here in the southern end of the valley.

  5. Love that tumbler quilt! I have that Evelyn Sloppy book, but haven’t looked at it lately – I don’t remember Apple Crisp! Must go look.
