Spring Weekend

Did you all have a nice weekend?  Hope so!  The weather was spring like here, and we all gathered at my Dad's house for Easter Brunch.  Gosh what a fun event that is.  Everybody shares their signature brunch dish and we eat like kings.  My nephew (whose wife is expecting the baby) made the salad in the photo above.  He added blood oranges and made honey lime mint dressing to go over it.  It was the star of the buffet, I tell you.  Oh, and as if that wasn't enough, he also brought a huge Easter ham!  It was a wonderful get-together.

Eva and I had an adventure this week at a local winery known for its fabulous displays of spring bulb blooms.  She thought the flowers were pretty, but was more interested in the kitty cats that live at the winery!

Then we came home and dyed Easter eggs.  She was so proud of her basket of eggs!  Can you tell?  I am such a lucky grand mother  to be able to spend my days with this sweet child.  She has so much love in her heart.

  1. Cheers for a lovely family Easter gathering in the company of your sweet Dad and with that amazing fruit salad plus the other signature dishes. Sweet! Is there a recipe for the fruit salad and dressing?
Lucky Eva to have such a fun Grandma as you! My cousin used to talk about making good memories by taking her children interesting and/or fun places and you’re certainly helping Eva make good memories along with her good fun.
    Hugs!

  2. The grandchildren are indeed the special people in our lives. I love the innocence and awe they show me. We had a nice weekend as well. That salad looks delicious!

  4. Omg I can’t believe how grown up Eva looks! She’s lost some of her baby face and is now such a cute young lady. How much fun you must have with her 🙂
