Two more blocks and it's a wrap! I have so enjoyed making these blocks. Now, I am nowhere near completely finished with this quilt, but I have only two more blocks to finish. Then, lots of rearranging to get the color placement just right, then I need to cut out the scrappy setting triangles. Oh, and something I have been ignoring: I need to machine appliqué all those center circles. A ways to go, but I am getting there.
I am actually thinking of putting on a containment border, then adding an outer border of a pizazzy Denyse Schmidt floral.
I have no clue where this quilt is going to end up, but it has been a fun journey to make the top.

I like the idea of a containment border with something fun for the outer border … I can’t wait to see what you decide to do.
Way to go, Nicole! Just two more blocks then all of those centers! Knowing you, I am certain you’ll be to the arrangement stage in a trice.
I also like the idea of a containment border and suggest that black might be good for that purpose. I seldom use black for borders, but I’ve never regretted it when I did. It’s worth an audition.

This is looking so good…fresh and happy! I have a stash of ,Denyse Schmidt’s fabric that I’ve been aging for the right quilt and I think this is it! Thanks for the inspiration.

Read your posting on your garden and concern about the early planting of the tomato plants. We live in Colorado and have a late spring so my husband uses Wall-o-Water plant protectors for the tomato plants. The protectors are plastic cylinders composed of my tubes you fill with water and place around the plants. Fill the tubes partially with water initially so that the tops form a tepee and protect the plants from wind. He places a 5-gallon bucket inside the cylinder when filling the tubes and then places the cylinder around the plant. Add more water as the plants grow. The water in the protectors heats the soil and act as a greenhouse for the plants. Remove the protectors when the plants reach the top of the Wall-o-Water.
