Sometimes You Just Can’t Do It All

I worked on Eva's Christmas placemat a bit over the past few days, but seem to have had a relapse of my cold.  Yesterday I felt completely rotten, and aside from mustering the energy to make some chicken barley soup, I spent the day on the couch.  So, no sewing.  Probably won't be any for the next week, but sometimes, you just can't do everything you would like to.

The placemat is coming along great, just needing borders and embellishments before I back and quilt it.  I switched gears in terms of the design, deciding to use the mitten pattern for my January placement.  She should be able to start using this Christmas themed one by next week.  Eva has been very interested in its progress, so I am trying to involve her in the process.  Eva got my button box out, and I explained to her what we were looking for to embellish Mr. Gingerbread Boy, and she dove right in with gusto.  She emerged with a pink button, a yellow button and a green button, saying "This is just perfect".  And they were!  "I help you Nana".  Anytime my dear, anytime.

I probably won't surface again until next week, so Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
