I just can't tell you how much I appreciate all the information that was shared with me this week on the subject of longarm quilting machines. I am trying to respond to each of you to express my thanks.
What was interesting, is that even though I opened the opportunity for people to share any negative experiences they had with their longarm purchases, there really weren't any! All righty then! I am so prepared to join the ranks of longarm quilters!
Someone suggested that I check out a blog called Green Fairy Quilts, and I am so glad I did. Judi Madsen is a darling young woman who has been quilting on her A1 for a little over a year. You have got to check out her site to see her work, which is phenomenal. She does it all freehand, and when you see her feathers, and the way she fills in every bit of space, your jaw will drop. Now that is what I'm talking about! I will need to practice just a little to get up to that level of expertise. lol And she has three little kids vying for her attention!
There will definitely be some sewing going on around here Friday and Saturday, so look for some quilty progress pics on Monday!
Hope you all have a pleasant weekend, full of family and fun. We are gathering at my father's house for our usual Easter brunch. I had better get started on my Blueberry Thing.

Congratulations on taking the leap. I can wait to travel along on your quilting machine journey. I like the fact that you did your homework and are going into this with lots of information.
Thanks for the advise of visiting The Green Fairy. Amazing quilting.
Have a Happy Easter!
Happy Easter Nicole! Longarming is an exciting adventure and though there are challenges like there are in most things to me the results are well worth the effort. I’m looking forward to following your journey.
Have a great couple days sewing, that is how I’m spending mine as well.
I’m so excited for you! I’ve been considering looking into longarm machines since I had the opportunity to play with a oouple of APQS machines at our guild’s quilt show. It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed browsing through the comments on your earlier post. I’ll be anxious to see how it all works out.
Happy Easter!
I love Judi’s blog. She is such an incredible long arm quilter. And she enjoys it so much! Thanks for all the comments. I have been pondering the same decision as you, so any info is most helpful.
That “blueberry thing” is to.die.for. Have a wonderful Easter and I hope you get a lot accomplished in your sewing room!
I’m glad you’ve found Judi, she is amazing. Don’t you wish we were all that talented. I can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish.
Nicole…FYI…Pat Sloan is taking machine quilting questions for her Monday radio show. Heidi Kaisand the APQS National Sales Manager will be on her radio show again. Pat’s blog is http://patsloan.typepad.com/
Hope this helps. 🙂

I am so glad you mentioned Green Fairy Quilts, because when I found her blog, I did indeed sit there with my jaw on the floor! STUNNING.
Happy Easter!
Judi certainly does amazing quilting!!
Have fun choosing your long arm, I can’t wait to see the quilts you make with it!!!
Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend! I can’t wait to see what kind of quilter you get.
Good for you! I love Judi’s site – you are right, she is incredibly inspirational! Happy Hoppy Easter!
Nicole, I am so glad you checked out Judi’s blog. I didn’t realize you were not familiar with Green Fairy Quilts. Judi has the most amazing talent! I have told her many times that the work she does just boggles the mind and I believe she has a brilliant career ahead. Her name will be know far and wide in the quilting world before long. You have to see her work, to believe it. Have a blessed Easter.
Yes, I too was bitten 12 years ago. And I glad I did. I love my Gammill Classic, now a Plus. Had it retro fitted 5 years ago with the stitch regular. I’ve had no problems. Can fix anything that I need to, good help via phone or book or on-line. As many tops as you make, you could save some money on quilting! I love it. I actually have mine in our living room. Yea, everything quilt related in our living room. But I love it! My husband really doesn’t care what I do, if I’m happy! :>0 Go for it! Just try them out, and see which one is best for you.
The Blueberry Thing was ridiculously wonderful last weekend!
