OP Sew Along Day One

Oh my gosh, how fun is this?  I am on a virtual quilting retreat with dozens of women, all of us making a quilt with orange fabrics!  I plan to post several times a day during the three days of the Sew Along Pat Sloan has organized.  I have my computer all set up close to the sewing room so I can check in every half hour or so and see what everyone else is up to.

I wish I had pressed my fabrics yesterday.  It slowed me down this morning when I got the pattern instructions.  I couldn't get right into the cutting until I pressed all the darn fat quarters.  Some of them have been folded up in my stash for so long, they have Perma Creases.

So, there you see I have my fabrics cut.  At least enough to get started!   The instructions say to use orange and one other color.  As you see I chose navy.

I will post in a bit after I complete a few blocks for you to see! But first I need to brush my teeth and get out of my jammies.  (You can tell I was a bit excited to get started this morning).

  1. What a coincedence…the dark fabric with the litte florals on it is in the quilt I am binding today. It was wonderful to work with and has quite a variety of colors it blends with. I love it. I still have 2 yards of it and I believe it is Moda? Not sure but I picked mine up on a clearance table for 1.99 a yard, a few months ago when they were making room for the new fabrics What a deal!
