Goodbye July, hello August!  Isn’t August 1 supposed to be our Two Color Quilt Challenge Deadline?  So, how is that going for all of you who said they would like to participate?  I know Patti whipped hers out way back in June, but I would love to hear from the rest of you as to what your progress is.

I hope to finish mine up today and post on it tomorrow, but if the rest of you aren’t ready yet, no worries.  Give us an update, we would love to know what you have done!

  1. You know those two blocks I “whipped out” back in June? Wellllll. That’s my report. I haven’t done another thing to my two-color quilt. I think I’ll set myself a Sept. 1 deadline and try to keep it.

  2. Sadly, not even a start here, but I do enjoy seeing what others are making for this challenge. *s* Thank you so much for sharing Ozzie in your blog. He always brings a smile to my face. Hope he has recovered from being left behind the other day.

  3. I am not part of the challenge, but I wish I were. I absolutely love 2 color quilts. I am working on a blue and white one though. I will be for my youngest son. He has a twin size trundle bed. That type uses an extra long mattress on top where he sleeps. I posted a picture on my blog about it. I love blue/white and red/white quilts the most. Your HSTs look great! Can’t wait to see your finished quilt.

  4. The blocks for my top are totally finished and I’ve laid them out… but I gave up shortly into the piecing process. I feel like I’m still so far away from a finish, and so sick of this quilt, that I needed to put it away for a while- I’ll pull it out and work on it again in a few months. This challenge did help me get much further on this quilt than I would have had I not been working towards a deadline!

  5. i would love to participate, but being in france for a month sans sewing machine does not allow this to happen. when i return next week, i will sit down and plot something out and make it my september project. i have always loved two color quilts and have only made them as gifts but never actually kept one for myself. i think now is the time.

  6. Are you sure that it wasn’t a September 1st deadline? :~) Sadly I had to put it away for some other things and I don’t have anything new to report. I really want to finish it though. I have one that I need to finish first and then back to this one.

  7. i’ve finished, but it’s very simple. there are a huge amount of scraps leftover and i think i’ll have another go at getting it (a two colour quit) right!

  8. I’m getting there! I finished the machine quilting yesterday…just have the hand quiting and the binding to do!…It’s my #1 project at the moment…which is so out of my comfort zone…I like to flitter from project to project…BUT it has to be done…the wedding is on the 24th!!! I don’t think it will be done in time..but that’s ok…It will give me an excuse to have the happy couple over for dinner and pop open a bottle of bubbly! :o)

  9. I started a project and then I was almost done with it and realized it had an extra color (cream). I am going to post it tommorrow. So it doesnt really qualify anymore for the two color because I added the cream. And it was too late to start something over. I just love your red one, it is very pretty. Good luck on your new job!! I am in the process of looking for a new job. I have been here 14 years and feel the need to change.
