While the Cat’s Away, the Mouse Will Play

My DH has been gone for six days, and I my attention is beginning to wander.  No, not to another man.  Two words, people.  Pottery Barn.  I think I may be in love.

With all the freedom I have had this week, I managed to get out and do some window shopping.  Only I didn’t just stop with looking in the windows.  I was inspired to create a whole new Spring look for my family room!

The pillow above is just the sweetest thing ever.  So springy and fresh.  It is just a white muslin pillow with botanical things embroidered in a bright green yarn.  Don’t you love it?  Pottery Barn.

Here you see the ancient looking Tuscan pot I found, filled with forsythia branches.  And look at the matching candle holder and springy candle:

After I left Pottery Barn, smoking credit card in hand, I went home to see what other green accessories I had stashed away.  It is just amazing how many things a person has in their closets, that they don’t even remember.  Anyway, here are a few more pictures of my new Springy Decor.  Just in time for March!

The raggedy towel on the chair in the background doesn’t add much to the look of the room, but all of you who have dogs understand, I am sure.

I LOVE this little rabbit.  He is so adorable in his golfing knickers and his tiny bunny dolly.  He actually is probably worth more than all my other spring decorations put together.  He is a collectible made by Debbie Thibault back in 2001.  I doubt it would be easy to find another one like him–very rare.  I put him out every Easter, and my family pokes fun at me.  Honestly.  He is precious.

I used some restraint with my Easter decorations this year.  I have to remind myself that it isn’t necessary to put *everything* out!  Oooooh, but let’s not forget Saint Patrick’s Day.  Just a few more touches of green, then I will stop.

So, as you can see, I thoroughly had fun yesterday, playing with all my decorations.  But when the day was done, I was kind of lonely for my husband’s company and approval.  The table was very pretty, but it was just set for one.

  5. Oh, I’m ready for spring!!! I got caught in a whiteout last night. I wanted to turn my car around and head south to AZ!!! Love the forsythia. I can’t wait to pull out my forsythia wreath for my front door. Better wait till all the snow’s gone though. LOL!

  6. I really like the things you bought, especially that rabbit. Of course, your DH might decide it’s best if he doesn’t go out of town too often! =)
