A Passion for Flowers

I have a passion for flowers.  I love them in the garden, I love them in public places, I love them in arrangements, I love them in vast quantities anywhere at all.  Finding them gracious, harmonious and uplifting, I am truly nutured by having fresh flowers in my house at all times.  If anything could get one in the mood for Spring planting, it is this lovely book pictured above by Carolyne Roehm.  The book is full of awe inspiring photographs of all sorts of floral arrangements, categorized by season.  Carolyne’s approach to arranging flowers is very far removed from plunking a mixed bouquet from the grocery store into the handiest vase.  Take a look at this book–I promise you, you will be inspired.  Then, go to the nursery, go to the florist, go to the local farmer’s market and buy some flowers, and make your own delightful bouquet!  Put them absolutely everywhere, like my friend Patricia does.

  1. Delightful floral displays! And gorgeous colors! I always love decorating with fresh flowers whenever I can, even if it means just putting a few tiny sprigs into a bud vase! Happy weekend!
